This workshop is for biology students and anyone who wants to learn tactics to help earn the most points answering essay questions in science classes.

Learn to:

 

  • Identify and understand science essay questions by analyzing the word choices and structures of the questions

  • Use your knowledge to produce cohesive explanations and earn as many points as you can.

Applying to UCs and CSUs


Come for a quick overview of the application process: deadlines, where to begin with personal statements, what to expect after applying, what to do after applying, and general questions.

This is the second workshop in a series from Danielle Alamillo, MESA Academic Excellence Workshop Facilitator for Bio 206. 

MESA Counselor, Armone Lochard will join Danielle to help answer questions. This is a great way to get answers to a lot of application and transfer questions at once. Feel free to bring your questions! The answers may help both you and your peers!

This workshop is for science, engineering, and math majors and anyone who wants to learn how to stay motivated while pursuing challenging goals. We will dive in and help participants identify internal and external factors that have influenced their trajectories so far, then discuss how to maintain motivation through educational and career challenges.
