The Student Leadership Conference (SLC) brings together engineering, computer science and other STEM undergraduate students with industry professionals to develop the next generation of diverse leaders. The conference is an opportunity for STEM students to develop the teamwork and leadership skills necessary to successfully transition from college to professional careers.

Free bus transportation will be provided. Please be advised that there are a limited number of seats available on the bus. Also, this is an all-day field trip. The bus will depart the SBVC Campus between 8:00-9:00 am, and it will return to the SBVC Campus between 4:00-5:00 pm.  If you have Wednesday classes, or if you work on Wednesday, then you will need to plan accordingly.

You will need to bring your own lunch and a beverage.  You should also wear comfortable clothes and shoes, as walking is involved.

Formerly the trip to Grand Canyon, details are still in the planning stage, but here is what we have to date. 
  • Camping trip
  • Possible sites we will visit include Salton Sea loop, Joshua Tree National Park, and the Mojave National Preserve.
  • Transportation will be provided in the form of 10-passenger vans.
  • Trip will be limited to: 30 people total (including students and faculty chaperones)
